South and North Korea are holding a string of talks ahead of the PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games which kick off on February ninth.

Following the initial high-level talks between the two Koreas last week, working-level talks were held on Monday to discuss the North's proposal to send a cultural troupe to the games.

A third meeting will take place on Wednesday, with vice-minister-level officials holding a comprehensive discussion on the upcoming Olympics.

The two Koreas will then share the results of Wednesday's meeting with the International Olympic Committee in Lausanne, Switzerland on Saturday and wrap up the details of the North's participation in the games.

Military talks between the two sides will follow as early as the end of this month.

If the military talks take place within this month, the two Koreas will have held a total of five meetings in less than a month.
