'Pompeo to Lead Preparations for US-N. Korea Talks'

U.S. President Donald Trump's pick for secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, will likely lead preparations for the planned summit talks between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
According to CNN Wednesday, Trump instructed CIA Director Pompeo last Thursday to lead the preparations soon after he accepted an invitation to meet with Kim.
Meanwhile, Pompeo is reportedly examining the CIA's past negotiations to ensure the U.S. will not repeat its mistakes in talks with North Korea.
Pompeo told Fox News and CBS on Sunday that he had a chance to read about the CIA's failed negotiations in the past, assuring Washington will not repeat the same mistakes.
The remarks appear to indicate the U.S.’ intention to make no concessions in talks with North Korea until it secures the North's commitment to the “complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization” of its weapons program.
