Top Office Launches Preparatory Committee for Inter-Korean Summit

The presidential office said Thursday it has completed the composition of a preparation committee for the inter-Korean summit next month.
The top office said the eight-member committee is headed by presidential chief of staff Im Jong-seok while Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon will serve as his deputy.
The formation of the committee comes just ten days after the two Koreas agreed to a summit meeting at the end of April.
Committee members include national security adviser Chung Eui-yong, Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha, Defense Minister Song Young-moo and director of National Intelligence Service(NIS) Suh Hoon, among others.
The preparatory committee will hold a meeting every week or every other week.
The meetings will also be attended by Vice Unification Minister Chun Hae-sung, presidential spokesman Kim Eui-kyeom, senior presidential secretary for public relations Yoon Young-chan and other officials of the NIS and the National Security Office.
