Reports: N. Korean Foreign Minister Extends Stay in Sweden

North Korea’s top diplomat is reportedly extending his visit to Sweden amid speculation that his trip may be aimed at helping arrange a forthcoming summit between Pyongyang and Washington.
Swedish broadcaster SVT on Friday quoted a source as saying that North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho will return to North Korea on Sunday, not Friday as was initially planned.
SVT added that the agenda of the talks between Ri and Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallström was also expanded.
The broadcaster quoted a local international affairs expert as saying that the foreign ministers’ meeting was planned several months ahead but the agenda underwent some changes due to the recent agreement to hold a summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in May.
Early this week, the Swedish Foreign Ministry said the two ministers would discuss Sweden's consular responsibilities on behalf of the U.S., Canada and Australia, without disclosing the details. Sweden has an embassy in Pyongyang and represents the three countries in the North.
The ministry said they would also discuss the security situation on the Korean Peninsula.
