IOC Chief Embarks on Trip to N. Korea

International Olympic Committee(IOC) President Thomas Bach embarked on a trip to North Korea on Thursday.
Accompanied by an entourage of some ten people, Bach got on an Air Koryo flight at 2 p.m. Thursday from Beijing Capital International Airport.
A source in Beijing said Bach is expected to discuss ways for the IOC to support North Korea’s participation in international competitions.
Given his title, the IOC chief is likely to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un during his stay.
Earlier on February 12th, Bach's spokesman Mark Adams had unveiled that Bach would visit North Korea after the PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games. He had said that the North extended the invitation to Bach at the IOC headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland on January 20th where the IOC and the two Koreas met to discuss the North's participation in the winter games.
