International Olympic Committee(IOC) President Thomas Bach on Friday met with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Pyongyang.

The Associate Press reports they held a 30-minute meeting after watching a football match together.

"We have a received the commitment of the NOC (National Olympic Committee) of DPRK (North Korea) to participate, also, in the upcoming Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, and the respective youth Olympic Games. And this commitment has been fully supported by the supreme leader, Mr. Kim Jong-un, in a meeting we had this afternoon..." 

According to the North's Korean Central Television on Saturday, Kim told Bach that through the Olympics, the IOC opened the way for a dramatic thaw in inter-Korean relations.
