Koreas Discuss Installing Hotline Ahead of Summit

South and North Korea held working-level talks on Saturday to discuss means of communication in preparation for the inter-Korean summit later this month.
A South Korean presidential official said the two sides discussed technical issues related to setting up a hotline between their leaders.
The two Koreas had agreed last month when South Korean presidential envoys visited North Korea that the leaders would hold their first phone conversation via the hotline before meeting face to face.
The hotline channel will likely be installed in the offices of President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, in Seoul and Pyongyang respectively.
The Saturday meeting was held on the North Korean side of the border truce village of Panmunjeom.
