Two Koreas to Hold More Working-level Talks This Week

The Unification Ministry says the two Koreas are expected to hold one or two more working-level talks this week to prepare for the inter-Korean summit slated for April 27th.

The two Koreas held working-level talks on detailed schedules and protocol for the summit last Thursday at the truce village of Panmunjeom, followed by discussions on Saturday about installing a hotline between their leaders ahead of the summit.

Ministry spokesman Baik Tae-hyun told reporters on Monday that the two sides have more to discuss on these matters.

South and North Korean officials are expected to hold senior-level talks around next Wednesday for a last-minute check on preparations for the summit.

During those talks, officials are expected to finalize the agenda and set a date for the first phone conversation via the hotline between President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
