Koreas to Discuss Resuming Cultural Exchanges After Summit

The inter-Korean summit later this month is expected to be followed by talks between the two Koreas on resuming exchanges in culture and sports.
In a press briefing Monday, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that Minister Do Jong-hwan held talks with North Korean officials about such exchanges during his recent visit to Pyongyang.
The ministry said that during meetings with North Korean Sports Minister Kim Il-guk, Culture Minister Park Chun-nam and others, the two sides agreed to hold related working-level discussions after the inter-Korean summit on April 27th.
During talks with the sports minister, the two sides discussed pushing for a joint march of South and North Korean athletes at the Asian Games as well as North Korea's participation in the International Shooting Sport Federation's World Championship slated for later this year in South Korea's Changwon.
The ministry also said that during talks with the North Korean culture minister, there was discussion on resuming inter-Korean projects such as joint excavation of cultural relics and the publication of a unified Korean dictionary.
