US Expresses Support for Formal End to Korean War
The U.S. State Department says the United States would support a formal end to the Korean War.
State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said during a regular press briefing on Thursday that Washington would certainly like to see a formal end to the armistice and that's something that it would support.
The comment came two days after President Donald Trump said the two Koreas have his "blessing" to discuss the end of the Korean War.
Asked about any concerns for the upcoming inter-Korean summit, the spokeswoman said that Washington is not worried about it, expressing support for improved relations between South and North Korea.
