Russia Wishes for Successful Inter-Korean Summit

Russia has expressed its best wishes for a successful inter-Korean summit.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said during a regular news briefing on Thursday that Moscow fully supports the two Koreas' diplomatic efforts.
The spokeswoman said that Russia sincerely hopes the relevant countries truly intend to resolve issues, not worsen the situation, offering wishes for a successful summit.
Zakharova added that Moscow is making every effort to contribute to a peaceful resolution of the Korean Peninsula issues.
Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said in an interview with Russia's TASS news agency on Thursday that until recently, he would have said the Korean Peninsula is the most tense region in the world where military action could break out. But he said the situation has changed and the two Koreas are moving towards reconciliation.
He recalled that last July, Russia and China proposed a diplomatic roadmap to solve the North Korean nuclear crisis in a peaceful and phased manner. He said Moscow would welcome it if related parties follow this roadmap.
