Koreas May Hold Military, Red Cross, High-level Talks in May

South and North Korea are likely to hold a series of meetings next month to follow up on the agreements of the historic inter-Korean summit at the truce village of Panmunjeom.
The preparatory committee for the inter-Korean summit will now act as a committee for the implementation of the agreements of the summit and hold its first meeting this week to discuss follow-up measures in earnest.
The Unification Ministry will also hold a similar meeting on Sunday afternoon, chaired by Minister Cho Myoung-kyon.
The Seoul government will discuss plans to hold inter-Korean general-level military talks, Red Cross meetings and high-level talks.
A Unification Ministry official said that it is possible that all of the talks will be held in May, although the two Koreas may need time to assess the summit agreements and prepare for follow-up meetings.
