Opposition Leader Refuses to Accept Summit Outcome

The leader of the main opposition party has refused to accept the outcome of the inter-Korean summit.
In a news conference Monday, Liberty Korea Party chairman Hong Joon-pyo said the summit agreement blamed the United States for the crisis on the Korean Peninsula and sympathized with the absurd claims of North Korea.
He said he believes there is a hidden motive behind what he called an "abnormal" summit agreement, pointing to North Korea's ruling ideology of self-reliance and its South Korean followers.
Hong argued that not a single step of progress was made for the North's denuclearization, which is the key to realizing peace on the Korean Peninsula, and criticized the summit outcome for retreating from past agreements.
