"Kim Jong-un Pledged Nonaggression against S. Korea"

According to Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said during Friday’s inter-Korean summit that the use of military force is like poking one’s eyes with one’s own fingers.
Cho disclosed the North Korean leader’s remark while briefing on the landmark summit’s results to the leadership of the ruling Democratic Party at the National Assembly on Monday.
According to Cho, Kim promised nonaggression and no use of force against the South, calling it a “pact.”
Cho, who accompanied President Moon Jae-in during the summit, said he was most impressed by the successful communication between the two leaders.
Regarding the North Korean leader, the minister assessed that Kim was preemptive, broad-minded and straightforward, but at the same time meticulously reviewed the declaration of the summit and its implementation measures.
Meanwhile, the minister proposed that the government and the ruling party work together to arrange inter-Korean events, including the ones marking the forthcoming anniversaries of the past two inter-Korean summits and Independence Day on August 15th.
