Seoul: High-Level Inter-Korean Talks to Be Held in Mid-May on Cooperation Projects

South Korea says it will hold a high-level meeting with North Korea by mid-May to discuss follow-up measures to inter-Korean agreements reached during last week's landmark summit.
Presidential spokesman Kim Eui-kyeom said on Thursday that the plan was confirmed during the first meeting of the preparatory committee to implement the Panmunjeom Declaration that was held at the top office earlier in the day.
The committee also decided to establish three sub committees. They will handle inter-Korean relations, denuclearization and permanent peace regime, and public communications.
According to the spokesman, a task force on afforestation will also be created under the subcommittee on inter-Korean relations. He said the government will soon start efforts to help the North’s afforestation, noting it's one area in which the North needs the most support and the South has a wealth of experience to share.
