Foreign Ministry Sets up Post-summit Task Force

The Foreign Ministry says it has formed a task force to implement the agreements reached at last week's inter-Korean summit.

Lee Do-hoon, the ministry's representative for Korean Peninsula peace and security affairs, leads the task force, which began its work Thursday.

A ministry official says it plans to discuss North Korea's denuclearization and the establishment of a lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula, and winning international support for the efforts.

The leaders of South and North Korea adopted the Panmunjeom Declaration during their summit last week, in which they pledged to pursue complete denuclearization and seek a formal end to the Korean War that ended in an armistice in 1953.
