Rudy Giuliani, a recent addition to United States President Donald Trump’s legal team, said that "there is a good chance" that three Americans detained in North Korea "will be released over the next several days."

Giuliani made the remarks on Saturday in an interview with CNN, adding he prays that the release happens.

On Thursday, the former New York City mayor told "Fox and Friends" that the release would take place within the day, saying the United States got North Korean leader Kim Jong-un impressed enough to be releasing three prisoners that day.

However, the White House refused to confirm the comment and the release did not take place that day.

Giuliani reportedly admitted later that he just speculated on the possible release after reading the newspapers without any discussions with Trump.
