Foreign Ministry: Trying to Verify China Visit by Top N. Korean Official
South Korea's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday said it is trying to verify the situation surrounding a possible visit to China's northeastern city of Dalian by a top North Korean official.
At a press briefing, ministry spokesman Noh Kyu-duk said there is nothing Seoul can confirm at the moment, as neither Beijing nor Pyongyang have made official announcements on the visit.
When asked if Beijing had informed Seoul in advance of anything related to the rumored ongoing visit, the spokesperson said there has been close cooperation at each level between South Korea and China regarding the situation on the Korean Peninsula.
