Trump: Pompeo Traveling to N. Korea to Prepare for Summit

U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is traveling to North Korea to prepare for the upcoming Washington-Pyongyang summit.
During a news conference to announce his decision to withdraw from a nuclear deal with Iran, Trump said that at that very moment, Secretary Pompeo was on his way to North Korea, adding he will arrive shortly.
Trump said that plans are being made and relationships are building, expressing hope that a deal will happen and a future of great prosperity and security can be achieved for everyone with the help of China, South Korea and Japan.
He also said that the location and date for his meeting with Kim have been set, but did not elaborate.
Regarding the possibility of the release of three Americans detained in the North, Trump said that we'll soon find out and it would be a great thing if they are.
Pompeo also tweeted about his trip on Tuesday, writing "Headed back to #DPRK at the invitation of the North Korean leadership.” He added that he was looking forward to planning a successful summit between President Trump and Kim Jong-un.
It's the second time that Pompeo has traveled to Pyongyang to prepare for the U.S.-North Korea summit. He made the first trip over Easter weekend early last month.
Meanwhile, the State Department cited Pompeo as saying that he is visiting North Korea to finalize the agenda for the planned summit.
