U.S. President Donald Trump says that he will announce the location for his summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un within three days, adding that it will not be the demilitarized zone(DMZ) along the border between the two Koreas. 

Trump made the comment on Wednesday at the start of a Cabinet meeting at the White House. 

Trump suggested last month that the truce village of Panmunjeom would be an excellent venue for his summit with Kim, saying that meeting at the Peace House would carry a symbolic value. 

As the DMZ has been ruled out, Singapore is emerging as the most likely site. 

Meanwhile, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told reporters in Japan, on his way back to the U.S. with the three Americans freed by North Korea, that the summit will be held for a day, but could be extended to two days if more discussions are needed.
