A North Korean state media outlet repprts U.S. President Donald Trump is reviewing a “new alternative” to resolving the conflict between the two countries and is interested in solving the issue through dialogue.  

Pyongyang’s Korean Central Television on Thursday broadcast a seven-minute-long video report showing Wednesday's meeting between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. 

It said that during the meeting Pompeo delivered President Trump’s verbal messages to Kim and in return Kim highly assessed and appreciated Trump’s deep interest in resolving the problems through dialogue and a "new alternative" as well as his active attitude toward their upcoming summit.  

The statements that President Trump is mulling a "new alternative" and that he's taking an active attitude are drawing attention as they were not included in earlier reports by other state-run media outlets, including the Korean Central News Agency and the Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the North’s ruling Workers’ Party.
