Trump: Suspending Joint Drills with Seoul was My Offer

U.S. President Donald Trump said that he offered to suspend joint military exercises with Seoul as it’s not good to hold the drills while negotiating in good faith with North Korea.
In an interview with “Fox and Friends” outside the White House on Friday, he also argued he was saving a lot of money by stopping the exercises.
Trump said he signed an agreement with North Korea and more importantly established a relationship with Chairman Kim Jong-un, adding that he gave Kim a direct phone number to reach him.
Trump suggested that he might call Kim on Sunday, however, it's yet to be seen whether a direct hotline between the two leaders will be installed on the heels of their Singapore summit.
Regarding the summit outcome, Trump said that North Korea's nuclear problem has been "largely solved” and defended the decision to not press Kim over Pyongyang's human rights issue, saying that he did so because preventing a nuclear war is a more pressing matter.
