China Confirms N. Korean Leader's Visit

The Chinese government has confirmed North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's visit to Beijing, expressing hopes the trip will further deepen bilateral relations.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Geng Shuang said at a press briefing Tuesday that Chairman Kim of the Workers' Party of Korea is visiting China from Tuesday to Wednesday.
The spokesman added Kim's visit is expected to deepen China-North Korea relations, bolster strategic communication and facilitate regional peace and stability.
It's extremely rare for Beijing to disclose the North Korean leader's trip before his return to Pyongyang.
