S. Korea Informs N. Korea of Participants for Basketball Friendlies

Seoul's Unification Ministry says it has delivered to North Korea a list of South Korean participants for friendly inter-Korean basketball games to be held in Pyongyang next week.

According to the ministry on Friday, the 100-member list includes a five-member high-level government delegation, led by Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon, Vice Culture Minister Roh Tae-kang, and Korean Sports and Olympic Committee President Lee Kee-heung.

Fifty South Korean athletes, men and women, will travel to the North for the events, along with 30 media personnel and 15 staff from the government.

Four men’s and women’s basketball games will be held on Wednesday and Thursday.

The agreement to hold the friendly basketball games was reached during sports talks held at the truce village of Panmunjeom on June 18th.
