US Forms Post-Singapore Summit Working Group

The U.S. State Department says that it has formed a working group for future talks with North Korea to follow up on the U.S.-North Korea summit in Singapore.
Department spokesperson Heather Nauert said in a statement on Sunday that the U.S. set up the working group with a purpose of directing the department's planning, policy, implementation and verification of its efforts to achieve the North's denuclearization consistent with the Singapore summit's joint agreement.
The spokeswoman said that the working group includes three department officials: Alex Wong, Deputy Assistant Secretary for East Asian and Pacific Affairs; Ben Purser, Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Security and Nonproliferation; and Mark Lambert, Special Representative for North Korean Policy.
The officials will reportedly coordinate department-wide efforts on diplomacy with North Korea.
Nauert said that the lead negotiator is U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim and the working group will support his efforts.
