U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says that the denuclearization commitment made by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un to President Donald Trump still remains and has been further "reinforced." 

Pompeo made the remark on Monday in a joint news conference after a meeting with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Kabul during his surprise visit to Afghanistan.

When asked to comment on North Korea's criticism of the U.S.' "gangster-like" attitude, Pompeo said that Pyongyang is issuing "mixed" statements, but the media have only reported the negative ones. 

The top diplomat also said that Kim's comments on his high-level talks with North Korea continued to express his desire to complete Pyongyang’s denuclearization. 

However, there have been no reports yet of Kim's comments on Pompeo's latest trip to Pyongyang for nuclear talks.
