Trade volume between North Korea and Russia decreased just eleven percent last year from a year earlier despite the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Quoting data from the Federal Customs Service of Russia, Radio Free Asia reported on Friday that the trade volume between the two nations came to 42-point-seven million U.S. dollars in 2020, down ten-point-eight percent on-year.

North Korea's exports to Russia plunged 76-point-five percent on-year to 714-thousand dollars last year, while imports declined just six-point-three percent on-year to 42 million dollars. 

North Korean imports reportedly include 970-thousand dollars worth of "classified" items, which were not seen in the data for 2018 and 2019. 

A professor from Dong-A University reportedly said that the items are presumed to be luxury goods for North Korean leader Kim Jong-un or military equipment.
