Big Bang’s “Lies”
Popular group Big Bang has been riding high these days with their latest single “Lies.” However, is the group guilty of telling a few lies of their own?

The group is currently being wrapped up in accusations of possible plagiarism. On internet entertainment sites and video sites like YouTube, netizens are discussing their doubts on the originality of the group’s single “Lies,” which they say sounds very similar to Japanese singer Free Tempo’s “Sky High.”

Posts and videos have been uploaded, comparing the two songs. They point out the similarity between the beginning part of “Lies,” which was released by the Korean group in August, and “Sky High.”

Some music experts agree that the sampling is very similar, while others say that though the two songs have similar piano chords, it is difficult to call it plagiarism.

The lyrics and music of “Lies” were written by Big Bang’s lead member G-Dragon (Gwon Ji-Young).

A representative of the group stated “There has been no plagiarism and I don’t understand why these accusations are circling now, more two months after the album was released.”
