Shinji, vocalist for the group Koyote, released a ballad called “The Words of Love” in a digital format after a hiatus of a year and half. Pop music critics and fans were surprised that Shinji released a ballad, breaking away from her trademark dance beats. However, the transformation into a ballad singer is understood as Shinji’s will to actively develop her career as a vocalist, rather than just a member of a dance pop group. “The Words of Love” is a medium-tempo song in which Shinji sings in high notes about the pain of an unrequited love. However, Shinji and her agency said that she will not perform the new song on air and the song will be circulated only through on-line music sites.
