Thanks to his mouthy father Kim Gu-ra, Kim Dong-hyun has had his share of spotlight from an early age. Now, he's hoping to step out of his famous MC father's shadow as a hip hop artist.

According to reports, Kim Dong-hyun has signed as a trainee for Brand New Music. Brand New Music is also home to Bumkey, Verbal Jint, As One, Phantom, miss $, San E, and more.

Kim made a surprise appearance at the "Brand New's Brand New" concert, during Kanto's performance of the song "What You Want".

Brand New Music shared that it's still up in the air whether Kim will make his official stage debut at the Brand New Music family concert on December 7th.
