Despite his young age, singer Hwanhee has quite a number of years under his belt. He came to join the music industry when an SM Entertainment staff member saw him perform at his high school festival. He soon joined the entertainment giant, teaming up with American Brian Joo to form the duo Fly to the Sky in 1998. They debuted in 1999 at the LOG-IN H.O.T. Concert and SM Festival Concert '99. The two singers' voices perfectly complemented each other and the duo is credited with being one of the earlier R&B acts.

As the years progressed, there were a lot of rumors saying Hwanhee and Brian didn't get along. Whether it was their strained relationship that caused these rumors or the rumors that caused the relationship to be strained is hard to say, but the two eventually disbanded in 2009. Through variety programs, the two have addressed these rumors saying that although it was true that they didn't see eye to eye for the past few years, they had gotten past that now. On an intimate portrayal of the two meeting one last time as Fly to the Sky on air, the two both shed tears, apologized, and expressed that they did indeed love and support one another.

Hwanhee and Brian have both released solo albums since then. Hwanhee's first one in 2009, H-Soul, saw moderate success. After a nearly one-year hiatus, Hwanhee made a comeback with his second album H-Hour. He worked out long and hard to prepare for it, returning with a more cut physique and breathtaking breakdancing moves. Having made his comeback date similar to other "older" solo artists such as Se7en, BoA, and Chaeyeon, the industry has seen some change in the weekly music shows which used to be made up of almost 100% young idol groups/singers.

The soulful singer has also dabbled in acting. When it came time to switch entertainment companies from his Fly to the Sky label PFull Entertainment, he decided on Keyeast Entertainment which is known to house many big names in Korean dramas and movies such as Bae Yong-joon and Lee Na-young. He starred in the dramas "Over The Rainbow" in 2006 and "I Love You" in 2008. He also starred in the popular reality series "We Got Married" as the pretend husband to singer Hwayobi. The two sang "Endless Love" together on one episode which immediately put the couple up on people's radars. It was quite the musical pairing since the two are both attributed as singers that can actually...well, sing.

On a more personal note, though Hwanhee has always been a talented singer from day one, his physical appearance has undergone some changes. He's went through several extremely well done plastic surgery procedures that have left the public -- especially the male population -- wondering who his doctor was!
