Celebrated Korean actor Lee Byung-heon will debut as a singer in Japan. Lee has long been a favorite Korean star in Japan, but this is his first time appearance in Japan as a singer.
Lee will kick off a two-week concert tour on November 15th, traveling four major cities of Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka for seven grand concerts. Although his busy filming schedule prevented him from showcasing his own new songs, he has prepared a concert repertoire covering a wide range of genre, from drama OST songs to American pop songs. In fact, a number of Japanese composers sent him remakes of their hits. Shin Seung-hoon, Korea’s top balladeer helped Lee with the recording and directing.
Lee has already proven his singing talent with the release of his first album “To Me” back in 1999. “Tears,” a song for TV drama “Happy Together” in which Lee starred, was a big hit at the time.
The first concert will be on November 15th in Osaka and the last one in Nagoya on November 28th. Some 60,000 tickets to the seven scheduled concerts have already been sold out a month ago.
