Trot Diva Goes on World Tour
Korea’s trot music queen Jang Yoon-jeong is going on a world tour. Often heralded as the pioneer of the next generation of trot music, Jang will attempt to globalize this traditional Korean music genre.

Jang burst into the trot music scene in 2003 with lively “Oh, My (Eo-meo-na),” bringing a breath of fresh air to the declining trot music industry. Her youth and pretty face, as well as her amazing singing talent, instantly propelled her up to the music stardom.

Jang’s world tour will begin at the Queen’s College in New York on November 24th, followed by a performance in New Jersey the next day. After her U.S. tour is over, she will fly to Thailand for her first concert there. She will hold a concert commemorating the 50th anniversary of Korea-Thailand diplomatic ties on December 8th at Ambassador Hotel in Bangkok. Then on December 17th, she will meet her Japanese fans at two rounds of dinner shows in Tokyo. The last destination of her world tour would be fittingly in Seoul on December 22nd and 23rd.
