Ryu Shi-won Fulfills Promise Of Helping Japan Earthquake Victims
Hallyu star Ryu Shi-won has fulfilled his secret with the people affected by the massive earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

Keeping his plans under tight wraps, Ryu visited one of the areas suffering from the disasters inflicted by the earthquake, Iwate, on July 2nd. This was in honor of the promise he made with his Japanese fans earlier on. The famed actor had expressed through his minihompi (personal social networking site) last March saying, "No matter what, I will find a way to directly participate in helping out the Japan earthquake victims."

Ryu made a special guest appearance to offer gifts to the earthquake victims, alongside Japanese actors from the NHK drama "Dondohare": Manami Higa and Asahiwa Uchida.

Before the official event, Ryu met with the vice-governor of Iwate and was seen taking detailed notes on exactly what was specifically needed. He is also in the works of starting up a self-titled Japan tour, which will include Sendai, where he plans on inviting earthquake victims. The details of how he will further provide concrete aid is being discussed.

The tour will start up on November 4th at the Misatoshi Culture Center, followed by performances in Osaka, Nagoya, Sendai, etc. for a total of 9 cities and 18 shows. The finale will be on December 21st for two shows in Saitama Super Arena.

The long-time actor shared, "There's a word in Japanese that describes the relations between people "kizuna", and we saw much of that after the Japan earthquake in how people were comforting each other. It's very similar to "jung" in Korean, and thus wanted to share that similar feeling with the Japanese people."
