Singer Se7en has received quite an honor overseas, from China.
According to YG Entertainment on April 14th, Se7en was given the Best Overseas Performer award at the 2012 China Music Award & Asian Influential Awards which took place on the 13th.
This is the 16th edition of the awards ceremony since 1994, and it seeks to honor the representative talents of Asia. Previous Korean winners have included Lee Byung-hun, Kim Tae-hee, and Jang Woo-hyuk. Like any other year, over 100 of some of the biggest stars in Asia gathered at the venue, this year being the Macau Venetian Hotel.
Se7en was the only Korean star invited to the ceremony. After receiving his award he said, "Thank you so much for this great award. I'll work harder to meet often with my Chinese fans. Please anticipate great things!" He then held an official interview with local Chinese press.
Clips of Se7en's performance and interview will be broadcast through China's Channel V, which will also air in about 30 countries worldwide through 60 channels. Countries like Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, etc.
Se7en will be embarking on a Japanese showcase tour starting in May, to hit up places like Tokyo, Fukuoka, Nagoya, and Osaka.
