Tips on How to Wear Khaki
Today I’m going to introduce tips on how to wear khaki—one of the hottest hues for summer 2015.

We tend to associate summer with pops of bright colors and wild patterns, but one color trend that’s been popping up around every corner is the classic khaki. If you’ve been trying to figure out the trendiest looks of the season, experiment with khaki and take your fashion to the next level. Khaki is an extremely versatile color that suits everyone and goes with everything. A wide variety of summer staples are getting the khaki treatment this season—everything from military-inspired summer dresses, button-downs to trousers to blazers, summer knits, and so much more. For those interested in wearing the color but don’t know where to start, you can always begin by substituting khaki for where you would normally wear black, navy, or any other neutral hue. For instance, a khaki blazer instead of your usual black blazer or a pair of chic khaki pants worn in lieu of your favorite black slacks can instantly add that pizzazz to your overall look.

For the office, swap your everyday black trousers for a pair of loose khaki slacks and create a chic office look. As for the style of the pants, high-waisted, wide-leg pants are “in” this season—so ditch skinnies and opt for a pair of loose khaki trousers for the office. Team up the pants with something as simple and plain as a white button-down, wear the shirt tucked in and complete the look with a pair of strappy sandals. In addition, you can also go for a tone-on-tone look by pairing the khaki pants with a top in the similar color as the pants. For instance, a khaki cropped blazer can be worn with a wide variety of bottoms including pencil skirts, A-line skirts, balloon skirts to slim-fit cigarette pants, wide-legged slacks in the same or similar shade as the pants such as subdued greens, browns, greys, slates, and more. When going for a simple, monochromatic look, be sure to add some bling to your outfit and go wild on the accessories. Play with bold necklaces, earrings, and bangles, and wear them layered (which is still a hot look!) and give your style a bit of an edge.

The military-inspired trend which has been around for some time seems to have transitioned into the season, making khaki a must-try color for summer and fall. On a day when you feel like dressing more on the conservative side, ditch your favorite neon dress and opt for a nice military-inspired summer dress in crisp khakis embellished with vintage silver, gold, or brass buttons. Stick to those styles featuring clean cuts and sharp lines—as the minimal look still seems to be all the rage. For casual outings, pick up a pair of khaki shorts and pair it with a loose summer knit top. Mix and match bold accessories and complete the look with a pair of summer laced-up booties and put together a chic outfit. For a stroll along the beach, pick up a flowy, khaki maxi dress featuring a halter-neck and team it up with a cute floppy hat and a pair of gladiator sandals and flaunt your fashion sense.

Incorporate khaki into your wardrobe now and stay stylish!
