90’s Trends for Spring 2016: Part II
The 90’s has been a big point of inspiration for designers this season.
Picking up from where we left off last week, today I’m going to introduce the must-try 90’s-inspired runway trends that can be translated into everyday looks.

Slouchy sweaters
First up, 90’s-inspired loose, slouchy sweaters are “in” this season. In line with the oversized trend that’s been dominating the fashion scene, “slouchy-everything” is the way to go this spring—especially when it comes to tops. For the office, swap your tight-fitting everyday button down shirt for an oversized, extremely loose slouchy sweater and team it up with a knit midi skirt in a similar color as the top. Top off the look with a pair of nude pumps and make your legs look longer. On a day when you feel like dressing up, opt for a loose off-the-shoulder knit top and pair it with any bottom you like—everything from loose boyfriend jeans to tight-fitting jeggings, slacks, maxi knit skirts, and so much more.

High-waisted jeans
90’s-inspired high-waisted jeans are creeping back into style and it’s officially time to toss out super low-rise jeans. The perfect pairing to a short crop top, high-waisted jeans are the go-to bottom this season. For any casual outing, ditch your low-rise skinnies and opt for a loose boyfriend fit high-waisted jeans. Wear it teamed up with a crop top short enough to reveal your midriff and a pair of high-top sneakers and create a chic 90’s look.

A sweater around the waist
Tying a button down shirt around the waist is once again a hot trend. To make a polished outfit a bit more casual, wear a button-down plaid shirt around the waist and work the ultimate 90’s styling trick into your look. A chic choice for a casual Friday outfit would be a black midi knit dress. Tie a button down around the waist and you can instantly dress down a more put-together look.

Slip dresses
We can’t talk 90s fashion without mentioning the slip dresses. Nothing is quite so 90s as a spaghetti-strapped slip dresses which have been dominating the runways for the past few seasons. For a lovely spring day, opt for a short black slip dress and wear it teamed up with a black leather jacket. Pair the slip dress with sneakers and birkenstocks and instantly create a sporty glam relaxed look. Another good thing about form-fitting slip dresses is that they are quite versatile as they can go with practically anything you want. Pair it with any kind of footwear—anything from sneakers to gladiator sandals, pumps, laced-up boots, and stilettos. To combat those chilly mornings and evenings, cover your frock with a chunky sweater, a leather jacket, denim jacket or a suede blazer and showcase the 90s revival to the max.

Bring back the 90s into your wardrobe now and stay stylish!
