Puffy Shirts for Spring 2016
Spring is here and it’s time to rev up your fashion quotient. Today I’m going to introduce tips on how to wear puffy shirts—one of the “it” items for spring 2016.

Puffy shirts reminiscent of the 80s are back in a big way this season. Among other designs, white, ruffled puffy shirts made numerous appearances on the runways. Once considered outdated and matronly, voluminous ruffled shirts are now officially one of the hottest things in fashion at the moment. Of the many designs, designers are especially loving the Victorian styles decorated with large frills on the sleeves and the cuffs.

To update your office look, opt for Victorian style puffy shirts made of velvet, silk, or lace and instantly take your look from plain to classy. Remember, the more feminine the shirt is, the more Victorian it is. Opt for colors like crisp white, ivory, pale pink, light blue, lemon yellow, and more. Ditch your old-school super plain white shirt and go for a ruffled, puffy white shirt worn with something as plain and chic as a midi-length pencil skirt.

On the runways, designers found a fun way to experiment with the look—by teaming the big blouse with chic bottoms such as loose, high-waisted pants and voluminous full skirts. For an evening out on the town, swap your slim-fitting LBD (little black dress) for a ruffled, puffy blouse and a full skirt combo. As for the design of the skirt—you can mix and match different styles—for instance, a big ruffled blouse teamed up with a simple black full skirt or team up the shirt with printed full skirts featuring large patterns such as oversized flowers.

If you would rather go all-out Victorian, go for the same texture on the top and bottom. For instance, pairing a big silk blouse with silk pants is always a fashion “do.” A silky big ruffled blouse featuring lace details on the shoulders will look great when paired with a pair of light blue silk pants featuring chic prints—consider everything from flowers to geometric patterns. Team up the outfit with a pair of simple pumps and a tote bag, and you have a chic spring outfit.

Add a puffy shirt to your spring wardrobe now and stay stylish!
