Top Three Hottest Makeup Trends for Summer 2016
Summer is here and that means we are finally going to embrace the hottest makeup trends of the season. To help you freshen up your look in time for the new season ahead, today I’m going introduce the top three makeup ideas you’ll want to try.

●Trend #1: Iridescent Eyes
First up, play up the eyes! This season, the shimmery iridescent eyeshadow trend is super hot—and that means it’s officially okay to ditch the neutral toned eyeshadows. The Summer 2016 runways were filled with jewel-toned eyeshadow looks—with models sporting 70’s-inspired luscious eye makeup featuring lots of greens, blues, purples, and metallic. To revamp your look, switch out your everyday beige eye shadow for a shimmery iridescent eyeshadow and give your eyes a pop! Among the many hues, blue in particular seems to be the season’s “it” color. Of the many ways makeup artists applied blue this season, we love the major eyeliner look. Remember, eyeliners can completely alter your look. Ditch your everyday black eyeliner for a vivid electric blue eyeliner and instantly take your look from day to night. For an extra oomph, trace the top and the bottom lash lines and smudge a bit of cobalt colored cream eyeshadow into the roots of the lashes.

●Trend #2: The pretty pout
When it comes to lip makeup, candy-colored lips are super hot. Experiment with lots of candy hues including strawberry pinks, corals, and reds. According to the runways, the hottest lip color of the season is quite specific—it’s the candy apple red shade. From satin, matte to super glossy, fiery candy apple red lips are back in a big way. Remember, red lips will look much cooler against bare skin. To get the look, keep the face makeup minimal by using concealer only on blemishes and dark areas. Rock bold lips now and bring on the bling!

●Trend #3: Ethereal & Dewy Skin
Lastly, dewy skin never goes out of style and is particularly trendy at the moment. According to makeup artists, this season’s face makeup is all about achieving a dreamy and ethereal effect. To get the look, use an oil-control primer before putting on a luminous oil-free foundation/BB cream. To create glowing, highlighted skin, dust a matte bronzer on the cheeks and instantly warm up the skin. Top off the look with a pinky-gold blush on the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, and cupid’s bow (the top edge along the upper lip).

Experiment with these looks and stay stylish!
