The Scent 2012

2012-05-05

BG 향수뿌리지마 - 틴탑

Although in music and movies, we try to advocate
doing the right thing, over the years,
artists are given freedom to use these bits
and pieces of reality in their art forms.

And it is very much like that very successful reality tv show,
about catching unfaithful significant others red handed!

What you're hereing is one prime example of a trend.
In tune with the theme of today's flick,
Teen Top's Don't spray perfume.

This movie stirred quite a controversy with its poster,
theme and trailers.

The title in Korean means
waiting for cheaters.

The title in English is The Scent,
as the woman that crashes into our main character's secret life

and the woman he is devoted to both use the same perfume.

Usually cheating on a loved one is a side plot,
but here comes a movie that actually uses it as a central theme.

But it offers more than the hype stirred up by some
of the movie's promotional efforts.

It has a solid plot, a moral that hits home,
and a cast of actors who do a phenomenal job of
bringing their misunderstood characters to life!

BG 미련한 사랑 - JK 김동욱

Park Hee-soon plays a private eye.
He specializes in tracking down unfaithful loved ones.
Options offered are:
make them beg for mercy
or corner them completely
so they pay the price for their misdemeanors!

He is good at his job, but this is a secret life for him.

He is actually a police officer and this is his secret second job,
that really pays well.

Life is good until one female client
comes into his life.

She ends up dead,
and he has blood on his hands
even when he is not the killer.
And his only way out of a sticky situation
is another girl with the same name, seen with her husband
murdered in the same hotel,
played by Park Si-yeon.

He is actually married, but his relationship is at a crossroads.
And getting knee deep in trouble
doesn't help in his efforts to salvage his marriage.

The plot thickens,
and you will be pleasantly surprised
as there are twists and turns
and more turns in this movie...
as nothing is what it seems,
and there is a surprise ending after an ending.

It can be kind of slow,
but the comic relief provided
by the witty situations and dialogues by impressive characters,
especially the one played by Lee Gwang-soo
is sure to keep things tight
