Prof. Kim is one of recent recipients of the 14th Korean Overseas Compatriots Award from the Korean Broadcasting System, for his achievements and contributions to the field of science and technology. He has created a positive image for Korea by actively getting involved in American computer science education, and encouraging brisk coordination between Information Technology scholars from Korea and the US.
