Attention hallyu fans- how would you like to visit some of Seoul’s official top hallyu spots and receive a free prize for doing so? Last year, Seoul enlisted the help of hallyu fans all over the world to compile its top ten best hallyu spots. As you know, Seoul is the center of hallyu and after thousands of votes through a worldwide public poll, the top ten sites were officially set which I’ll unveil so you can hit them up too. What’s even better is that Seoul is putting on a fun hallyu stamp tour event through the end of this year through which you can receive a free souvenir! I’ll provide more details on that a bit later but first, here’s a look at the official top ten hallyu sites you’ll need to visit to collect your stamps.

The Floating Islands of Some Sevit may look familiar as it served as the backdrop of numerous television dramas. The three floating structures holds restaurants, cafes, exhibition space, convention hall, and more. It’s especially beautiful at night during warmer seasons when the Banpo Bridge Moonlight Rainbow Fountain show is put on daily on the Banpo Bridge.

Lotte World in eastern Seoul is one of Korea’s most popular amusement parks and also featured in many movies and dramas. The indoor and outdoor amusement parks are especially a favorite of couples and the enormous 123-story Lotte World Tower is set to soon be fully open with shops, luxury hotel, observatory deck, restaurants, movie theater, and aquarium within it.

Apgujeong and Cheongdamdong are well-known upscale neighborhoods and home to many entertainment agencies. The K-Star Road has numerous giant-sized art toys symbolizing top K-Pop groups. K-Pop fans will love finding them and taking pictures and you may just as easily spot a celebrity in the hallyu-centered area! Another place K-Pop fans won’t want to miss on this list is the SM Town Coex Artium where you can purchase special K-Pop goods, get a K-Pop makeover and even do a professional photo shoot.

Deoksugung Palace also made the list. This palace near Seoul’s City Hall is known for the popular changing of the guards ceremony that takes place at the palace’s entrance. Though the palace isn’t as grand as some of the other palaces, it’s still a beautiful palace to explore and they’ve served as the backdrop for many historic dramas and movies.

The Yeouido Hangang Park is one of the most popular Han River parks especially in the approaching spring season when the cherry blossom trees are in full bloom. The park also has the Hangang Ferry which will take you on a pleasant river cruise and where you can relive the many romantic scenes that were filmed here.

Another popular location for period dramas and movies is Namsangol Hanok Village. The traditional homes on Namsan’s foothills offers a relaxing and quaint experience and has been featured in a number of variety programs. The Cheonggyecheon Stream has appeared on a number of Korean variety programs as well and is popular with locals and visitors alike for its oasis in the heart of the city.

Gyeongbokgung Palace is perhaps the most popular and well known of the royal palaces. Try renting a traditional Korean hanbok outfit to wear to emulate members of royalty or your favorite actors from popular historic dramas. Last but not least, the N Seoul Tower is iconic as a Seoul landmark but has also served as iconic scenes in many popular dramas. It’s, of course, well known as a popular dating location in real life as well.

That’s the full list but to participate in the hallyu stamp tour all you need to do is visit three of the locations above and collect the stamps there. The stamp book comes with Gyeongbokgung and Deoksugung already stamped so all you need to do is visit and collect three more stamps. Then simply bring the stamp book to the Myeongdong Tourist Information Center to collect a free souvenir!
