U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is working on the matter of American female journalists detained in North Korea.

Acting State Department spokesman Robert Wood told a regular briefing that the U.S. government is working diplomatically to try to resolve the issue.

Wood said that although a number of contacts have been made with the North, the government believes it is best not to disclose any specifics.
