The top nuclear envoys of South Korea and China will meet Tuesday in Beijing to discuss North Korea’s plan to launch a rocket.

Wi Sung-lak and his Chinese counterpart Wu Dawei are expected to discuss ways to reopen the stalled six-way nuclear talks as well as the North’s rocket launch, planned for early April.

Wi is also likely to ask for Beijing’s cooperation in pushing for U.N. Security Council sanctions against the North in the event Pyongyang launches a ballistic missile, and not a satellite as it claims. China has said that it will not assist in the call for sanctions should the North indeed be launching a satellite.

After wrapping up his Beijing trip, Wi will travel to Washington to meet U.S. special envoy on North Korea Stephen Bosworth to discuss what measures will be taken if the North launches a missile.
