U.S. President Barack Obama plans to nominate a Korean-American professor for the post of State Department legal adviser.

Koh Hong-ju, incumbent dean of Yale University’s law school, served as an assistant secretary at the State Department in charge of human rights and labor affairs under the Clinton administration.

If his nomination is confirmed at the Senate, Koh will head an office comprising 200 legal advisers where he will furnish advice on all legal matters.
