US Warns of Consequences if NK Launches Missile

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says the U.S. would raise issue at the U.N. Security Council with an attempt by North Korea to launch a missile.

Clinton, who is visiting Mexico, told reporters Thursday that a missile launch by Pyongyang would be a provocative act and a violation of a U.N. Security Council resolution.

She added that such a move would not go unnoticed and that there would be consequences.

Clinton also said Washington has made it very clear that North Korea pursues this pathway at a cost.

Earlier this month, Pyongyang announced it will put into orbit an experimental communication satellite sometime between April fourth and eighth. But South Korea, the United States and Japan suspect that North Korea's claim of a satellite launch is a cover for a long-range missile launch.
