Aso May Give Missile Interception Order

North Korea's preparations to launch a missile are continuing to make headlines in Japan.

Japan's Kyodo News Agency said Thursday morning that the North has positioned what is believed to be a long-range ballistic missile on a launch pad at its Musudan-ri site.

The Yomiuri Shimbun and Sankei Shimbun newspapers said that North Korea is in the final stages of preparations for a missile launch with only the injection of fuel needing to take place before launch capability is reached.

The Japanese government, meanwhile, held an emergency meeting on Thursday to discuss the North Korean missile launch. Prime Minister Taro Aso is expected to order the interception and destruction of the North Korean missile at a security meeting Friday.
