‘Japan Deploys Patriot Missile to Northern Base’

A report says Japan has deployed its ground-based Patriot missile to its northern region to ready defense ahead of a planned rocket launch by North Korea.

Reuters reported that Japan transported its ground-based Patriot Advanced Capability-3 missile to the Self-Defense Forces base in Asaka.

Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso presided over an emergency security meeting Friday and ordered the nation’s military to intercept any debris that might fall on its territory should a planned North Korean missile launch go wrong.

North Korea has warned that booster stages from its planned rocket launch could fall near Japanese territory.
