Yomiuri: NK May Be Launching Satellite, not Missile

Japan’s Yomiuri Shimbun daily says North Korea probably installed a satellite on its long-distance rocket, citing a U.S. missile expert.

US military research institute Global Security’s chief researcher Charles Vick reportedly said Monday that a satellite photo taken on Sunday by Digital Globe showed that the end of the rocket was oval, signaling a satellite is installed. Vick said that the end of a ballistic missile is narrow and round.

The paper reported that North Korea could launch a satellite as it claimed, citing a report that the projectile is five meters longer than Daepodong Two ballistic missile launched in 2006.
