Buffet Eyeing South Korean Companies

Investment tycoon Warren Buffett says that he is eyeing South Korea's large companies as an investment target.

In an exclusive interview with KBS after the annual meeting with shareholders of his company Berkshire Hathaway in Omaha, the billionaire investor said that he needs large South Korean firms to generate more profits for his company.

Buffet said that South Korean manufacturers have made a remarkable achievement and that he expects them to continue to do well in the future.

He said that he personally has bought a great deal of South Korean shares.

He said that he purchased bonds issued by POSCO several months ago, calling his investment in the South Korean steelmaker successful.

Buffett added that although the steel industry is struggling for the time being, the current situation will not be permanent.
